2009 Colfax Merchant Awareness Campaign
“Shop Colfax”
A Partnership Opportunity with MyColfax.org

MyColfax.org is an organization dedicated to raising awareness of the businesses along the Colfax Corridor.  In 2009 we are continuing this effort by initiating a six-month campaign to neighbors and businesses called “Shop Colfax.”

At the heart of the 2009 “Shop Colfax” Campaign Series is shared marketing, a concept that creates an unprecedented advertising opportunity for everyone involved!  We all pool in our resources to create a cohesive marketing force using all of the most up to date multiple-media resource development and distribution.

The campaign utilizes print pieces, press releases, ad buys and email promotions to increase awareness and drive traffic to MyColfax.org.  This website portal offers an optimized searchable listing of businesses between Broadway and Colorado Blvd., exclusive merchant discounts, business profiles, business feature pages, sponsor ads, neighborhood events, photo galleries, and community news. It allows neighbors to sign up for a free My Colfax Card entitling them to discounts and giveaways from participating Colfax merchants, as well as monthly newsletters highlighting special promotions and events in their neighborhood.

There are 53,000 consumers who reside in Greater Capitol Hill with an aggregate income of $1.2 billion and retail buying power of $621 million annually. That does not count the consumers in the greater metro area who will be introduced or reminded of the many great reasons to come to Colfax Ave. The objective is to significantly increase the Corridor’s under-performing market share (less than 10% currently). Each market share point gained will increase sales at a rate of $5.6 million.

Upcoming Events:

As you know there are very successful restaurant events that have been orchestrated by our community partners, Feast on the Fax and the Uptown Sampler.  We would like to get your feedback on having two similar events.  The first will range from the Lowenstein Complex to Steve's Snappin Dogs and the second from Indulgences on Grant to the Bank bar on York street.  We are all searching for a more tasty Colfax!  These event would not compete with the events I mentioned above, but would compliment them.  Please reply to this email if you have any interest in helping coordinate this effort.

Marathon Weekend:
Take your business outside on May 16th and 17th.  Let's make an effort to set up tables and chairs and make the sidewalks festive on all of Colfax from Simms in Lakewood to Fitzsimons in Aurora.  By getting everyone outside we can show off all of our shops, restaurants, bars, boutiques, salons etc. to everyone that drives by.  You can also contact the Marathon office for more information about setting up water stations and serving the runners as they  come by.
